American University, Office of the University Registrar
Worked with the Office of the Provost to review the basic
functions of the Office of the Registrar with a newly established “one-stop-shopping”
for the university. A PowerPoint
presentation to the Provost summarized the interviews with all members of the
office and other administrators that regularly interact with the
Registrar. The recommendations resulted
in a restructuring of the office that conformed to practices at similar
institutions.
Amherst College, Athletics
Department
Chaired a five person External Review Committee that
reported to the President and the Dean of the Faculty of the College upon the
retirement of the Athletic Director. The committee interviewed more than
75 people from the community, reviewed more than 500 pages of background
documents, deliberated about policy recommendations, and produced a report
about organization, communications, and funding to help guide athletics over
the next decade.
Boston
College,
Administrative Review Program
Worked with the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment to
design, conduct and analyze data from focus groups and web surveys about operations
in the offices of budget, institutional diversity, career center, IT systems,
housekeeping, and grounds. The reports were integrated into self studies
of each department for strategic planning and oversight by the Executive Vice
President.
Consortium on Financing Higher Education
Chaired the Research Advisory Committee, provided staff, and drafted final
reports reviewing organization strategic planning related to technology,
confidentiality of data sharing, and graduate student initiative. Presented
reports to the Board of Directors composed of presidents from member schools.
Monmouth
University Office
of the Registrar
Conducted on-site interviews and reviewed background documents about the
delivery of services to commuter students from the Office of the
Registrar. The report reviewed several outreach functions of the office
with recommendations to the Office of the Provost about the Registrar’s space
allocation, hours of operation, staffing, and oversight
Northwestern University
Conducted interviews and office review for the of the offices of admissions,
financial aid, student records, and career counseling for the Associate Provost
for Enrollment as part of a five-year periodic cycle of administrative
reviews. Recommendations addressed enrollment management, data systems,
and reporting relationships.
Rice University, Office of the
Registrar
Conducted an audit of the operations and data integrity of the Office of the
Registrar during the implementation phase of a new student record system for
the Vice President for Enrollment. The report made recommendations about
leadership, staffing, office operations, and scope of work.
Stanford University, Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support
Led a team of three Institutional Researchers in a review of
the Institutional Research Functions reporting to the Office of the
Provost. The review team conducted more
than 20 interviews with senior adminstrators and deans that depend on research
and data support services at the university, resulting in several
recommendations for reorganization and relocation of the institutional research
office.
